Last Ponggal for Kampung Railway Sentul?
Kampung Railway Sentul has been in existence since 1885. The early settlers were made up of the earliest migrant workers from India to work on the Malayan railway, and their descendents are now facing eviction by the property developers which had bought the property from Keretapi Tanah Melayu.
What the 3rd and 4th generation of these migrant workers want is for the government to recognise the kampung as a heritage village to be called Kampung Warisan Railway Indian Settlement Sentul, in view of it being in existence for 127 years and the contribution their forefathers have made to this country's development.
