Shias go on pilgrimage despite deadly attacks

Millions of Shia muslims are converging on the holy city of Karbala in southern Iraq for an annual pilgrimage, despite the dangers of traveling there after dozens have already died in targeted bomb attacks this year. Two years ago one of the deadliest attacks ever on Shia pilgrims took place.
More than 50 people were killed, most of them women and children. Yet hours after the explosion, the survivors went back to feeding the pilgrims as they have done every year since Saddam Hussein was toppled. With the pilgrimage an essential part of Shia identity, even continuing attacks have not deterred the young nor the old from taking to the road. Al Jazeera's Jane Arraf reports from Baghdad.
