Gaza ceasefire comes into effect

Palestinians in the Gaza Strip have taken to the streets to celebrate a a ceasefire deal between Israel and Hamas. The truce, which followed negotiations in Egypt, was reached following eight days of bombardments by both sides.


More than 160 Palestinans and five Israelis lost their lives in the violence.

Al Jazeera's Stefanie Dekker reports.
